The jet turbine from the aircraft adventure was developed into stationary gas turbines and a world record was broken in 1959 when the GT120, the world’s largest gas turbine, was completed. It could generate a mind-blowing 40MW and was a new landmark for STAL. It was also the year that STAL merged with AB de Lavals Ångturbin in Nacka.
